Loose-Note vs Mixed-Value vs Bundle Counter vs Note Sorter

Quick answer: A loose-note counter counts notes of one denomination. A mixed-value counter counts mixed notes and gives the total value. A bundle counter verifies a sealed bundle of 100 notes in seconds. A note sorter counts, checks and sorts notes by denomination and orientation. Most shops need the first, busy cash counters the second, and banks the last two.

Loose-note counters

The simplest and most affordable option. Load a stack of one denomination and the machine counts it, checking each note for UV and magnetic features. Sorting by denomination first is the only extra step.

Mixed-value counters

Mixed-value machines read each note, so you can load a mixed stack of ₹10 to ₹500 notes. The display shows the total amount and a breakdown by denomination. They usually also have stronger detection (UV, MG, MT and IR).

Dual-CIS multi-currency counters

A step up from mixed-value counting: two image sensors capture both sides of each note, which allows reliable recognition of many currencies, serial number reading and PC or printer reports. Useful for hotels, forex desks and banks.

Bundle counters

Bundle counters are built to check that a banded bundle has exactly 100 notes, in about 4 seconds, without removing the band. They are used where cash arrives in bundles, such as banks and societies.

Note sorters

A note sorter does everything a dual-CIS counter does and also sorts notes by denomination, face and orientation in one pass, so bundles come out neat and ready for deposit.

Yes. Mixed-value counters also have a piece-count mode for loose notes of one denomination.

Some do and some do not. The Model 2000 lists UV, MG, MT and IR detection; the Model 1500 is designed for fast bundle counting. Pair a bundle counter with a mixed-value counter if you need full checks.
